I had problems getting a bank account for going overseas for a while, simpy because I had NO CREDIT RATING. I was in the bank for about an hour handing over details and then was refused a simple Euro currency current account on the basis that I had no credit rating. This confuses me however... surely it´s good that I´ve never had a credit card and only want to open accounts allowing me use my own money?? I think so.. really really baffled me.. I wasn´t happy. This is a reason for people to be forced into applying for credit, which in this day and age, is not a good thing. I just hope that people are sensible enough not to get into a lot of credit problems. LENA A great article.
