If you are lost, use Google Maps!
Electronic maps are not new to web, as it has been there for some time and number of people made a real use of it even though it was not accessible to every one. Google Maps is a freely available web mapping service provided by Google for public users and organizations. For general public, Google offers Google Maps and Google Ride Finder. Google also offers an Application Programming Interface (API) for other third party software developers to build their own mapping applications based on Google Map technology.
Same as Google Maps, Google offers, another ground-breaking software called Google Earth. This is world wide location viewing software with satellite pictures. Going one step ahead, Google has started offering Google Sky integrated in to Google Earth application. Google Sky is a detailed map of the sky as the name suggests.
Using a Google Map is easy as searching in Google search engine. It’s a matter of dragging maps and clicking buttons of your mouse. You can enter addresses, give directions or enter business names to find the location and route to the location. You can even embed Google Maps in your website giving directions to your house or business. Also, there are number of applications that make references to Google Maps. As an example, in some mail clients, when the contacts are saved in the address book, the postal address of the contact is automatically referred with Google maps. So, next time the address book is opened, the user can see where exactly the contact lives or work.

When Google Maps are used for traveling, you have two options available for finding directions; either you can use the conventional map view, which is clearer and understood or else, you can use the satellite picture view to see the exact picture of what you are passing through. The second option maybe, great for identifying some of the landmarks, which are not included in the conventional view.
